Agrigento

Provincia d’origine di due grandi autori italiani del XX secolo, Luigi Pirandello e Leonardo Sciascia, Agrigento è una provincia ricca di storia e cultura. Tra le innumerevoli cose da vedere la spettacolare Valle dei Templi, gli scavi archeologici di Eraclea Minoa e di Sant’Angelo Muxaro.

Palermo

La provincia con “il più bel promontorio del mondo”, è quella della Conca d’Oro, quella in cui visse Federico II con la sua Corte e in cui si diffuse la Poetica della Scuola Siciliana, Palermo luogo dove tutto è natura, arte, cultura e storia.

Catania

Catania è una provincia ricca di natura e cultura in cui poter ammirare il maestoso paesaggio del Parco del Monte Etna, le ceramiche di Caltagirone, e il barocco di Militello Val di Catania, e dove poter gustare i pistacchi di Bronte.

Taormina

È uno dei centri turistici internazionali di maggiore rilievo della Sicilia per il suo incantevole paesaggio naturale, le bellezze marine e i suoi monumenti storici.

Cefalù

Cefalù viene citata per la prima volta dallo studioso Diodoro Siculo nel 396 a.C. ma la città si distingue per la sua impronta tipicamente medievale. Partendo da piazza Garibaldi e proseguendo per corso Ruggero fino alla splendida piazza del Duomo già si comincia a gustare l'atmosfera splendidamente intatta di questa perla del mediterraneo.

Siracusa

Pantalica, la Valle d’Anapo, Palazzolo Acreide, Noto, Avola, Vindicari sono soltanto alcuni dei luoghi da visitare in questa bellissima provincia. La città conserva oggi tantissime testimonianze del passato visibili all’interno del parco archeologico e nell’isola di Ortigia, nucleo originario della città.

Ragusa

Ciò che affascina di questa provincia è il ricchissimo patrimonio archeologico (Cava d’Ispica, Monte Cassia, Camarina sono solo alcuni dei siti) ed architettonico (Ragusa Ibla e Modica) Situata a sud dei Monti Iblei tra i corsi dei fiumi Ippari ed Irminio, la città si distingue in due nuclei: Ragusa Superiore e Ragusa Ibla.

Enna

Splendida provincia, conosciuta in tutto il mondo per i mosaici di Piazza Armerina e per il lago di Pergusa, splendido luogo naturalistico in cui, secondo un antico mito, Plutone rapì Proserpina.

Caltanissetta

La “terra dei castelli” è tra le province siciliane quella più lontana dagli itinerari turistici tradizionali, ma è sicuramente un luogo dove poter riscoprire e conoscere le tradizioni e la cultura del passato.

Messina

La provincia delle leggende e dei miti dell’eroe Ulisse, la provincia delle isole Eolie. Situata sulla costa occidentale dello Stretto di Messina, il suo nome più antico è Zancle (termine dorico siculo che significa falce ed è riferito alla forma della penisola di San Ranieri).

SATURDAY:  ARRIVAL                                

Arrive in Taormina area at any time (*). There are no planned activities so check into our hotel and enjoy the city. At the hotel reception you will find a information brochure. Dinner and overnight in the hotel. (*) All customers who have booked an individual transport service (at extra charge), will meet our taxi driver at the airport arrivals with a sign displaying their name that will bring them to their hotel.

SUNDAY: GROTTA AZZURRA 2hrs INCLUDED

Half board in Hotel. Excursion by boat GROTTA AZZURRA. On this tour you will discover the natural beauty of the coastline Giardini/Naxos – Taormina. The meeting will be at the port of Giardini Naxos. There you will start the tour in a comfortable characteristic boat (max. 12 persons), to explore the Ionian Coast. From here you’ll have a fantastic view of mount Etna and its area’s most breathtaking sights. On the way you can discover caves ,including the visit of the well known “Grotta Azzurra” (due to weather conditions and currents), rock formations and the beautiful Nature Reserve of Isola Bella. Dinner and overnight Optional transfer if requested € 15,00 per way.

 MONDAY: FD EXCURSION TO CALABRIA - NEW OPTIONAL - minimum 20 pax

Breakfast in the hotel. Full day day excursion to Calabria. Departure by coach to Messina and by ferry we will reach Villa San Giovanni in Calabria. We do a first stop in Capo Vaticano, a sea side resort, known for its dramatic cliffs and its breathtaking views and crystal clear waters. The attractions in Capo Vaticano are its beautiful natural wonders. The area boasts exceptional untouched beauty with its massive rock formations and its many small bays and isolated beaches. We proceed and we visit Tropea, a seaside resort; the sightseeing attractions mainly include the many beaches and the older section of the town that are lined with ancient houses and villas. In the centre of this town it is possible to admire the Church St. Mary of the Isle from a terrace on the sheer cliff top. Back to Sicily. Dinner and overnight in Taormina area.

TUESDAY: AGRIGENTO & PIAZZA ARMERINA INCLUDED

Today enjoy your full day excursion to Agrigento and Piazza Armerina. In the morning visit of Agrigento and guided tour of the Valley of Temples, where you can admire the Temple of Juno, the Temple of Concorde, one of the best preserved doric temples in the whole greek world, the Temple of Ercules and the Temple of Castor and Pollux. Continuation to Piazza Armerina and guided tour of the Villa Romana del Casale, famous for the most beautiful collection of late-Roman mosaics. Continuation to Taormina beach. Dinner and overnight.

WEDNESDAY: ETNA HD a.m. AND TAORMINA HD p.m. INCLUDED

In the morning xxcursion to Mt. Etna, the highest peak of Sicily and the most active volcano in Europe. The territory surrounding the volcano constitutes the “Park of Etna”, one of the largest protected areas in Italy: You will be astonished about the great variety of vegetation and landscapes that we will meet along the way before arriving at the “ Silvesti Craters” (about 1.900 mt). From here on you will have the option to continue the excursion by jeep. Stop at a local beekeeper to taste quality honey and have a wine tasting and to see how he is produced. In the afternoon visit of Taormina, situated on a plateau on the slopes of the steeply dropping Monte Tauro, dominating the Ionian coast from Capo Sant’Andrea to Capo Taormina.Possibility, to visit the Greek-Roman theatre, the 2nd largest classical theatre in Sicily. Re-entry in hotel. Dinner and overnight.

THURSDAY: CATANIA AND ORTYGIA ISLAND IN SYRACUSE INCLUDED
Breakfast in the hotel. Full day excursion. First stop in Catania, that lies on the slopes of the Etna, rich in baroque buildings; visit of the typical fish market and walking tour of the city centre. Proceed to Syracuse, one of the most interesting archaeological sites of the island, in which we will explore the historic centre in Ortigia Island, the most ancient nucleus of the city with its stunning cathedral. At this point the guests can choose to leave the group visiting without guide the Archaelogical park OR to take part to the optional guided tour of the Archaeological park of Syracuse (€ 30 per person + € 10 entrance fee), including the Roman Amphitheatre, the Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysus. Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.( in July and August only Syracuse ).
 
FRIDAY: LIPARI & VULCANO (**) - OPTIONAL

Breakfast in the hotel The islands are the patrimony of humanity as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. Departure by bus with a tour leader to the port of Milazzo and proceed by private motorboat to the island of Lipari. Stop at the ground with the opportunity to visit the old town with the archaeological park and the cathedral. Free shopping time in the local shops on the island. Back on board and sail along the "Faraglioni" and the "Horse’s Cave". Continue by boat to Vulcano and stop on the island with the possibility to make sulfurous mud baths in a dedicated area paying the entrance fee. Mud prohibited to pregnant women and children. After returning by sea, sailing along the coast viewing the " Rock of the Little Mermaid ." Eco-tax to be paid on board the bus not included. .. Dinner and overnight.

(**) In case of bad weather conditions the excursion to Lipari & Vulcano will be replaced with an alternative excursion.
 
SATURDAY: DEPARTURE or PALERMO AND CEFALU’ - OPTIONAL
Breakfast and end of our services OR excursion Palermo and Cefalu. Palermo is the capital of Sicily and preserves the most important Arab-Norman, Byzantine and Spanish monuments. Our local guide will start the tour walking through the Quattro Canti, the Church of the Martorana, Piazza Bellini, Piazza Pretoria, the Cathedral and all the historical center including a local touch with the typical market "Il Capo"; Alternatively, visit of Monreale, famous for its mosaics, facultative. Optional lunch extra at a restaurant downtown. Drive to Cefalu ' on the north coast. Visit the old town and the famous Norman Cathedral with the Christ Pantocrator. Return via Messina. Entrance fees to the sites extras In the evening arrive in Taormina area and end of our services or we can book the room for your overnight !
